Dofu | Singapore

Opened last August 2016 at Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange, Dofu is the newest ice cream craze in Singapore! As its name says, Dofu came from the Mandarin word  dòufu meaning a protein-rich food coagulated from an extract of soybeans. I picked from their Favorite Classes and chose the Fabulous which comes with Base 2: Black Soy Pudding and Black Soy Ice Cream, and 3 toppings + 2 FREE! I selected Wild Blueberry Granola,  Aloe Vera Cubes, Strawberry Popping Boba, Peanuts, and Salted Caramel Sauce.

There are different textures and tastes happening in this cup: soft-served ice cream, crunchy Peanuts, luscious Salted Caramel Sauce, sweet Aloe Vera Cubes and Strawberry Popping Boba (it literally pops in your mouth when you bite it!), crunchy and not too sweet Wild Blueberry Granola, and the soft chilled pudding.

The ice cream itself is soft-served and not that sweet. So opting for sweeter toppings make the overall taste balanced.  The texture of the pudding is smooth, soft and jelly-like, making its combination with the soft-served ice cream a unique one.

So, the next time you crave for an ice cream treat and you’re on a diet, try Dofu’s Black Soy Ice Cream!
