Kapitolyo in Pasig City is one of the famous spots for Manila foodies. Along the stretch of this emerging food street lies MAIN STREET’s second bigger branch (First branch is located in Taguig City).
It was a typical Wednesday afternoon, and we arrived a bit earlier that the usual time for lunch that’ why I was able to take good photos of the inside.
Since it was a Wednesday, we availed of their Poutine Special – Buy 1, Take 1, and pay only the price of whichever is higher. YAAAS!
The Bacon Cheeseburger has hand-cut fries topped with ground beef, bacon bits and cheese sauce. Traditional comes with the hand-cut fries mixed with melted mozzarella cheese and soaked in a generous amount of dark bee gravy. BTW, this is my first encounter of the dark beef gravy and I must say it really goes well with the mozzarella cheese!
Among the two Poutines, the Bacon Cheeseburger is my personal favorite. It has more toppings and a lot of flavors going on inside your mouth. Just the right amount of each topping since I can really taste each one of those. Nothing overpowers the other. The Traditional is also a hit because of its combination of melted mozzarella cheese and dark gravy sauce. The taste is a lot more salty compared to the Bacon Cheeseburger.
Each of the Poutine can serve up to 3 persons.
Of course, we will not leave Main Street without trying their Buttermilk Fried Chicken!
Three pieces of crunchy and flavourful fried chicken served with herbed rice and their signature garlic cream sauce (so yummy! really goes well with their fried chicken).
The chicken skin is really crispy and tasty as well as the meat itself. From the first until the last bite, I can taste the unique flavor of their chicken. I must say these are well marinated in their signature mix.
You can also order 8 pieces of the buttermilk fried chicken at P590.
Another hit is their Pork Chop which is served with a choice of salad or herbed rice, grilled asparagus and bbq sauce. Since we already tried their herbed rice, we opted instead of their salad. The pork is cooked until tender and flavourful. The salad, dressed with a vinegar-based sauce, is a good choice to balance the meat and fried food on the table. However, their grilled asparagus is slightly over-grilled. The bbq sauce is also very tasty and to be honest, is one of the most delicious of the bbq sauces I’ve tasted so far.
There are still so many food in their menu so, I will surely come back to try those!
