Tamoya | Singapore

Since I was a child, my parents and I would usually have our special dinner in a Japanese restaurant. They themselves are huge fans of Japanese cuisine since my father has a lot of Japanese friends who introduced him to the food and culture.

Up until now, Japanese cuisine has always been a part of me and my food journey. That’s why when we discovered this hidden gem in Liang Court, along River Valley Road, we excitedly planned our visit to this Japanese restaurant which offers authentic Sanuki Udon from Kagawa, Japan.

Being a huge fan of udon, I am really delighted upon discovering this highly recommended udon restaurant.

Are you kidding?! All sizes are of the same price? Better order the XLarge! 😀

I must say, this is the most affordable delicious udon I’ve tasted so far. The udon is chewy and smooth, making it very enjoyable to eat. It’s really great that only a few toppings on the udon makes it very delectable and attractive.

The kakiage and fish cake are some of the tempura options which are best paired with their udon, since these add a crunchy texture and a different flavor when consumed with the udon.

If you have a big appetite, you can add the rice topped with beef misono, which is tender and very flavorful.

So, whenever I crave for Japanese Udon (but on a budget), I already know where to head straight to!
